What Kind of Training

When I talk about training a horse, I am talking about traning them to turn, back up, and to give the person thats riding a smooth ride. I train a horse to turn to the right first and then the left properly. Eventually once I get them turning good I will have them run and train them how to turn quickly. If you have a horse that can turn quickly it can be used for many different things, such as keeping a calf with the herd rather then having to go crazy to get the calf back with the herd. It can be fun to train if you have a joy or passion for working with horses.

I work primarily with one horse until I have them pretty close to be doing everything I have trained them to do. I will start on a new horse but still work with another horse in my spare time. Once you get a horse used to turning and backing up, you will just have to work with the horse a little each day so they get better and better. One good way to train a horse is to take it somewhere where other horses aren't at and take them for a long trail ride. On the ranch I live on right now has 10 horses. I like to work mostly with my horse but I do work with the others when needed.
