I have been doing some training with some horses on my ranch. Training a horse can be difficult at times, but you just have to hang in there. Having all the right equipment you need to train a horse is very necessary. Before you even start to train a horse you need to make sure you will have the time to work with the horse everyday. The more you work with a horse, the better bond you will have with it and the faster it will be trained.
I already have all the equipment I need to train a horse which includes: a saddle and blanket, bridle, and a leadrope. Warming your horse up before riding it everyday is very important. You don't want your horse to pull a muscle or get hurt in any way. I usually ride for about two hours and work my horse on doing the things I am training her to do. I find it fun to work with horses because I have grown up with them. I will tell you a funny story next week about a very crazy horse.
No joke! I broke my own colt a few years back and it's probably the hardest thing I'v ever done. but the connection that is created from that is completely worth it. I rode him for 463 days in a row that first year. It was one heck of an undertaking but it is possible.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean by training? What exactly do you want your horse to learn to do? Are you working primarily with one, and a little bit with others? How many horses do you have? I'm interested in learning more!
